Mongolia is taking an important step to improve road safety by working towards a better system for managing road crash data.
The Mongolian government has chosen TRL Software to study the country’s current road safety and crash data systems. At the core of this project is TRL’s advanced road crash data management system, iMAAP. This system has already been used successfully in places like Dubai, Ghana, Jamaica, Botswana, and Bangladesh. .
Why a Crash Data Management System is Important
Accurate and timely crash data is crucial for creating effective road safety plans. Without a proper system to track and manage this data, it is difficult to spot trends, understand risks, and take the right actions. For a country like Mongolia, where roads are developing quickly and road use is increasing, having a central system that collects and uses data in real time is essential for improving safety on the roads.
How iMAAP Helps Improve Road Safety
The iMAAP system does more than just collect crash data; it helps authorities analyze this data to find out what causes accidents and which areas are most dangerous. This detailed information can then be used to create targeted solutions, such as better road design, stronger enforcement of traffic rules, and safety campaigns that address the specific risks on the roads.
